Where is Crystal Lagoon located?
Crystal Lagoon is located on the west side of the island of Comino
Crystal Lagoon is a stunning destination located on the west side of Comino island. It is either accessible via Boat rental or boat charter, where you can drop anchor in the bluest spot. Another option is to walk for about 20 minutes South of the blue lagoon beach. There are also kayak trips held from Gozo in autumn and spring. Note you can only explore very limited places of crystal lagoon by land. A boat rental is recommended.
Getting to Crystal Lagoon Comino Malta
Crystal lagoons can only be accessed by boat, there are multiple options leaving from Gozo and Malta. With mesmerizing turquoise waters, yellow line stone cliffs, and stunning views, a boat ride to get to a crystal lagoon is an experience you won’t soon forget. Ferry Boat to Crystal Lagoon
Crystal Lagoon is unfortunately not accessible via ferries, but you can still reach it! Take a ferry to Blue Lagoon and walk the rest of the way. It’s about 20 min walk south of the blue lagoon.

It is sheltered from strong winds, has a deep sea and hence provides ideal conditions for this thrilling sport. For those looking to explore this incredible island, boat rental is available to take you from the main island of Malta to Comino where you can jump off the cliffs into the crystal lagoon.
There are a lot of options in between depending on your level. Our client’s favorite has to be the 20-foot jump. It’s a very easy jump to get to, and it’s high enough to give you a good adrenaline rush.
Traveller Tip- Always check the dept before diving. Do not swan dive on your first cliff dive. Check that there are no boats coming out of tunnel Cave. Always practice this sport with a buddy.

Free Diving in Crystal lagoon Comino
Free diving is an incredibly exciting and thrilling sport where divers take on the challenge of exploring the depths of the ocean, relying solely on their ability to hold their breath.
Crystal lagoon has the p31 shipwreck that got scuttled just on the outside of the lagoon. The P31 shipwreck depts start from 10 meters to around 20 meters at its deepest point, making it the perfect location for practicing free diving. It can only be reached by a private boat, there is a yellow buoy marking the location. Please see the below map
Hiking to Comino Tower From Crystal lagoon
Situated on Comino island in Malta is the grand Saint Mary’s Tower, popularly referred to as the Comino Tower. This massive bastioned watchtower is a widely
known sight among tourists and locals alike. It dominates over crystal lagoon and it is just a short walk away. The Comino tower was also used in the movie Count of Monte Cristo starring Jim Caviezel and Guy Pierce, the tower was used as the prison chateau d’if.
It is a fairly easy 10 minutes hike, make sure you have closed footwear, due to the scrubs and rubble. This hike has some of the best views. On off-season charters most clients like to do this short walk to the tower

San Niklaw bay is nestled in the beautiful island of Comino, next to the renowned Comino hotel. Unfortunately the hotel, it is currently closed but plans are underway for it to be rebuilt. San niklaw bay shores are an exceptional place with its rocky and steep terrain. There are two amazing beaches of white sand for visitors to enjoy. With the southerly winds, the water is incredibly clear and not as crowded compared to Blue Lagoon.
Note- in the last 3 years it can only be reached by boat, the roads to the beach have been closed due to construction on the Comino hotel

How deep is Crystal lagoon Comino?
The depth of Crystal lagoon ranges from 1.2 meters to 15 meters
Crystal lagoon has various depths to suit different needs and desires. Crystal lagoon has crystal clear waters that are perfect for swimming, diving, fishing, and snorkeling but due to its clearness, it’s hard to judge the depth.
The inside (east) of the lagoon there are a few points that are as shallow as 1.2 meters but most of the lagoon is about 5 plus meters, going deeper to 15 meters in the center.
Always ask the skipper where is safe to dive
if you have a boat rental, take notice of how much chain/rope it took for the anchor to touch the bottom this will give you an idea of the depth
NOTE Never swan dive if you don’t know the exact depth
